
Dr. Isabel González
Dr. Isabel Gonzalez is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, specializing in Mental Health and Marriage and Family, with an additional specialization in Pediatric Neuropsychology. She currently practices in the private sector in Miami, Florida. Isabel completed her PhD at Albizu University and did a postdoctoral residency in bilingual neuropsychology at the Children’s Hospital of Colorado.
In her clinical training, Isabel received extensive training in the neuropsychological and psychological assessment of bilingual patients and had the opportunity to work primarily in hospital settings such as Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Her experience working with diverse populations has created a particular interest inneuropsychological performance in minorities and has informed her interest in cultural neuropsychology. In addition, in an attempt to contribute to the literature of cultural neuropsychology, she has co-authored two chapters on the history of neuropsychology in Latin America and Spain, and collaborated on multiple manuscripts specifically related to Latin American populations. Additionally, Isabel is very involved in community advocacy and is the founder and president of the Fundación Catisa, a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children in Colombia by providing emotional, psychological, financial and educational support.
