
Dr. Javier Oltra
Javier Oltra got his graduate in Psychology at the University of Valencia (Spain), and his Ph.D. at the University of Alicante (Spain). He is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist (Consejo General de la Psicología de España). He is currently professor at the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (Spain), where he teaches psychology and neuropsychology to both undergraduate and master’s level students.
He is responsible of the research project EN-ACTIVO (http://sabiex.edu.umh.es/), where his research group analyzes cognitive functioning and cognitive changes in cognitively active healthy adults aged 55 and older. He has participated in research projects analyzing cognition in eating disorders and obesity, multiple sclerosis, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia.
He has published several journal articles and book chapters, and has dictated conferences in both national and international conferences. His main current research topics are related to predictors of cognitive decline and progression from normal cognition to mild cognitive impairment and to dementia.
